Looks lovely. Spotted Catts always seem a much more substantial, thicker, textured flower than a non spotted one.
Is this true? Also if it so, is this a usual feature?

Yes, it's a noid. The colors change as the flowers age. The spots burst and by the end of their life the flower gets totally pink.

I think the heavy substance is just because of the parentage. For instance, a lot of the spotted Catts have C. aclandiae in their background, and that species has waxy flowers. The characteristic gets passed on to hybrids.
