Default mini phalaenopsis

My first (and so far only) phalaenopsis, a mini-phal is getting a few flowers opened. A one-phal-wonder haha.

The pinky-salmon tepals are quite nice, with some yellows and darker violet in other parts of the flower. Quite attractive flowers - and definitely happy to share pics of this one.

This one was transplanted into scoria when I first bought it (in November), so maybe 8 to 9 months now. I took this phonepic with a Samsung S2. I'll take some more pics later when more flowers open.

Update : Four flowers have opened now upon this update. More google drive links added above. This phalaenopsis was bought with a tag saying it's a phalaenopsis ------ no cross information was on the tag. This one came from a hardware/garden store - Home Depot equivalent. The two extra pics were captured with a Canon digital camera this time. The little lens of the Samsung S2 phone is quite ok too (very first pic) when the lighting level is good.

Update : 2Sept_2020 - 5 flowers!

DeaC ...... all ok with the boss hahaha. I had to pick off a couple of her hairs stuck on the flowers this morning. Gingercat was nearby - and I'm still surprised that she doesn't rub the flowers. She will rub her cheek and neck on flower pots though sometimes. Only once she knocked a pot over when she put too much force into it hehehe.

Diane ...... this orchid has no cultivar name too! It came from Bunnings too!

I spent some time when I first bought it to see if there were any cultivars with flowers that resembled this flower ----- but I wasn't able to find any 'normal' looking candidates.

I did find ones that weren't normal though haha (that had some features that were suspiciously similar, like colour, patterns, shape etc) ...... which are:

Interesting similarities!

Looking forward to see your Bunnings one flower !!!!!!

One more pic for this round of opening. Yesterday, I saw one of this same clone from the same (Bunnings) store. So they obviously cloned lots of these. Very pretty salmon pink colours.

Another really good feature of the phalaenopsis plants are pretty long lasting flowers. They stay pretty fresh looking for quite a while.

I bought a couple Mini Phals from Bunnings that had a tags from the Marlborough company.
I emailed them to ask if they had names and was given the names.
I then googled the names and was directed to Floricultura - Multiflora and the phals Ive seen in Bunnings are listed, with names, photos and sizes.

That's excellent Diane how you obtained names for your mini phals! The tag on mine just had Phalaelopsis sp.

Just "Phalaenopsis sp." ----- with a company name called Norwood. And when I visit the Norwood site (norwood.com.au), it just has a catalog that has (under Phalaenopsis) the following two labels ..... 'Amabilis' and 'Mixed'. Just those two words, and that's it. Pretty bad hehehehe.

It would have been nice if my mini phal had come from that Marlborough company too!

I hadn't seen the word 'Marlborough' for a long time hahaha. I remember that used to be everywhere - the cigarette hehehe.
