Angranthes Grandalena + Angraecum Joyce Stewart

Hello all,

I’ve had many plants in bloom before and now but never really got around to posting photos of them.


Here are two Angraecum crosses in bloom right now. They are Angraecum Joyce Stewart and Angranthes Grandalena.

The Joyce Stewart isn’t particularly fragrant and the Grandalena reminds me of garlic which is not ideal.

I have about 5 additional plants in bloom and another 10 about to bloom. I’ll try to get around to posting those as well later today or tomorrow.

As a minor follow up in terms of bloom status, I’ve noticed that as the open flowers mature on the Grandalena, they are becoming a bit more sweet smelling as opposed to smelling exactly like a Soppressata salami.

I am fine eating a salami but I certainly don’t want my orchids to smell like one.

It has only a hint of fragrance during the day. It doesn’t have much fragrance until nighttime. As of tonight, I would actually say it has gotten to the point where I can say it is pleasant smelling. Not much salami smell left. Now it smells mostly like Easter lily though there is still a hint of library paste and garlic.
