Finally got one in bloom. The photo isn’t amazing as my device’s camera isn’t great but it’s still an amazing orchid.

It is fragrant but hard to describe. It reminds me of some sort of powder mixed with tulips. Very pleasant. Just like a very general “like the mountains in springtime” fragrance.

That flower looks a little like suavis. Could we see the whole plant? Nice, BTW.

Sure. The flowers are starting to fade now though. It’s a very similar species to the suavis. I have also pinned down the fragrance to being exactly underripe honeydew melon. I’ll try to post a photo ASAP.

Thumbs up

A genera I've admired for awhile but didn't think I had the best conditions. However my latest acquisition is from Ecuagenera at a show in Feb. which I bought bareroot. Their label is Leucohyle subulata which I found to be Trichopilia. I mounted it on cork with a bit of s/m on top. Keeping moist, warm and lower light. Haven't killed it yet but always looking for advice.

I grow it like an Oncidium. However, nothing mounted here lives long.
