I purchased this from Hausermann's. I was surprised as it was shipped in bloom. I figured I'd share with you guys. Very pleasant and strong scent. I understand that this was judged as a Mossiae, but many consider this to be a natural hybrid.

I will say photographing was difficult:

1) I did some editing for fun on this plant. I blacked out some of the foliage to just show the flower. I included an original so you could see how much of a deceiver I am (last photo in series). I enjoy un-edited photography, but sometimes it is fun to try. Also the lines of what is considered un-edited and edited are a little blurry. Is cropping OK? etc.... Anyways do you like the raw or edited photos?

2) The color was so hard to nail. I could see it under my white and yellow lights. However, it was hard to capture on the camera. I double checked the white balances, but the flower's true color was elusive. Even just an exposure time change affected the color. I will say that as this flower died, the blues and violets on the edges came through so I do believe the color shift existed naturally in the flower. EDIT: The first 2 photos show the closest I could get on the color, the only difference is an exposure time between the photos, that's it!

I used to be upset when nurseries showed sample images of lavender colored orchids because I thought they were falsely advertising. "No its not that color. No it's not fuscia. No it's not like a pink highlighter." Now I understand how difficult lavender is to photograph.

Great job with the photography. Beautiful photos ----- really captures those very nice features - colours and shapes - of the flowers. The line patterns and colour in the throat ---- and colours of the whole flower are ultra appealing.
