what's the tall spiking one in the center back?

Good description
There are 3 different phrags together there across the back so I suspect that's what you are asking about.
In the center is the monster plant which is Phrag. Sorcerer's Apprentice (longifolium x sargentianum). It currently has 4 spikes, the tallest of which are an impressive 5' 8" from the crown from which they emanate. It started blooming in October....no end in sight. To the left of Sorcerer is Phrag. longifolium var. gracile. One single green flower on 1 spike. To the right of Sorcerer is another large leafed plant which is Phrag. Bel Croute (Sorcerer's Apprentice x caudatum). 1 flower and 1 bud on 1 spike) Looks a bit like Sorcerer but flowers are twice the size and lateral sepals hang straight down, long and twisting vs Sorcerer's which are shorter and held more like an airplane wing.
Did that help?
