Default Oncidium sphacelatum finally bloomed

I've had this oncidium for a few years, growing indoors. This is the first year I've put it outside and apparently it finds it agreeable.

I let the spike grow freely... rambling on top of my other orchids. Now... a tangled droopy mess. I think I'll stalk these next time. If only I had space to let it arch nicely. Definitely not an apartment patio grower!

it's still lovely! do you think there's still a way to stake them or are the spikes pretty stiff?

It's flexible enough but difficult to stake it from the small pot at that curvature. Maybe Lowe's will have thin metal rods I can use...
