Well, yes, but it always blooms when it's too cold to be outside. And I have a similar addiction to houseplants; every window that can have hanging plants is already full. And I have LOTS of windows.

I used to also put some hooks in the ceiling, but we have lath and plaster walls/ceilings. After I messed up a few big chunks of ceiling and had to replaster, my husband told me to cease and desist. He never discourages me and never says something like that lightly, so I presumed he really meant it.

I keep it on a tall end table by the couch when it's in bloom, and just lay down and stare at it.

I like that other people lay on the floor for fun. For me it mostly has to do with being drunk and wrestling dogs

Some say it's fragrant. I can't smell anything, but I have year 'round allergies. Sniff. This is a super easy Den for a beginner. I've had this one for years... well, I've kept divisions of it for years. The original is long gone. It's one I divide off every few years and give to someone starting out to induce their orchid addiction pheromones.

Today's WaterWitchin Bloomers is one of her favorite pair. I just love the Ondontoglossums, and some of its hybrids (Alicerea/Beallara)

This is Rossioglossum Rawdon Jester 'Great Bee.' (Try saying Rossioglossum Rawdon three times real fast.)





It's been in bloom for around two weeks now, and still looks fresh.

it is like a little flower and then another flower growing out of it. Simply sensational.

It looks like they are quite waxy and thick, is that an illusion or are they? most of my Alicerea/Beallara have more gentle and thin flower parts so i was curious as this looks thick and succulent more like a Cate. flower

Very thick and waxy as compared to Aliceara, formerly Beallara. This one really puts on a good show. But it’s a pretty cool growing orchid. Wouldn’t work for ya outside. Maybe not inside unless you have a cool basement or area. (55-60ish)

Well, I was changing out my bloomers today. Had a couple past their peak and figured something should be getting fresher bloomers. Here's what I brought up from the BatCave.

This is an unknown... I think Laelia? Correct me if wrong. It took part in a wind/hailstorm outside about 12 years ago, and there were quite a few that became NOIDS as I picked up the salvage from the storm. This is one of them. It's just getting started. Has three spikes, usually around 4-5 blooms per spike. If it puts on a display instead of piecemealing, it can have another picture.



This is a phrag that just never stops. Goes almost year-round. I count at least five unopened blooms coming. Again, it's from my NOID storm a dozen or so years ago. It just finished a round of seven blooms a couple months ago... here we go again!
