It's been extremely windy, rainy and generally miserable weather for over a week, but my orchids seen to know how hard it is to get through the last weeks of winter and have decided to cheer up my livingroom with their bright colors. And since it's not good weather for outdoor photography, it was a perfect excuse to pull out all my gear and hog one side of the living room for a couple hours!
Dendrobium Rainbow Dance
No winter rest necessary, though I noticed that it tends to retain far more leaves if watering isn't decreased too much. And it smells like apricots!!
Phrag Sedenii
This is my first ever Phrag, that I bought last summer. So far it's been a very easy orchid and it bloomed a first time in the fall, and again now.
Paph NOID
I have not a clue what this is, I picked it up at a garden center 8 years ago. I'm guessing there's maybe some Paph philippinense in it, but I'm curious if anyone has other ideas about its background.
Phal Wiganiae
This is a primary hybrid of schilleriana and stuartiana, which I absolutely love, in part for the nice mottled foliage! This has been a reliable bloomer for me, over the 10 years that I've had it. They've finally reappeared at vendors, so I'm thinking of buying another as insurance!
Phal equestris "B#100" AM/AOS
The color is always extremely difficult to get right, this shade of pink/purple just doesn't come out well in photos, even when shooting RAW. I'm a bit late with the photos, many blooms fell off already!
