Wow, a lot of flowers and very beautiful. I bought one of these from Lowes, a bag baby, and it sure would be nice to see flowers like that in a couple of years. Are the flowers fragrant?

Wow, beautiful!
I, too, purchased one of these from Lowe's in a bag, and can't wait for it to bloom (probably in another year or two).
I think this orchid is worthy of a nomination in the July Photo of the Month!

thanks for peeking and theres no ants.. you can see the garden twine that keeps the ants off the flowers well maybe you can..its worked so far. I dont know if it helped keep the black spots off them but the flowers came out pretty clean.
I thought the lizards were fighting today and then I notice ohhhhh....not fighting

I love this hybrid.
It is probably one of the strongest as far as the fragrant cattleyas go.
Mine unfortunately died, but I plant to buy some more from Carmela.
Is this first time flowering?
Mine had 5 on the first flowering and I thought it was pretty good.

not 1st time blooms. last year when I got it at the orchid show in Houston, had 10 blooms on 2 canes. Has bloomed out 2 other canes previously from that as far as I can tell. I would say this is the 3rd blooming season for the plant by all acct. It is from Carmela Orchids also. I think its one of the clones they offer yes? No fragrance yet but that takes a few days in the heat. 101 today in the greenhouse. So it getting heat and light. The UV levels are very high also if my burnt skin is any indicator.

If I remember correctly, the fragrant kicked in the morning hours, not early but around noon or just before, then quickly disappears.
Yes, Carmela still carries this wonderful hybrid.
I want to buy this one and other similar spotted one but in beautiful light pink. I think it is called Carmela lulu. Very cute! also fragrant!
Wow~ Texas heat! how do you grow your plants??
