Default Capanemia uliginosa has a spike!

I got this little plant from Andy's at the Tamiami show. It is sending out a spike and it looks like it will have multiple flowers. Sadly, I am leaving tomorrow for a week and I might miss the blooming. Here is a picture of the spike and plant. I will post a pic of the blooms (if possible) when I get back.

It is a tiny one. The longest leaf is not quite 4" and the spike is only 1". It looks like about 10 buds forming so far!

Good job, Susan! That should be really nice. I have had one of these for about a year now and it is showing new growth. Started a spike about two months ago but that seems to have stalled. I'll look forward to your pictures!

Ok, it bloomed! It is teeny tiny and very hard to take a picture of with my camera. The longest leaf is 4" and the spike is only 1.5" but it still managed to have about 8 flowers!

It looks great, Susie!
Isn't the fragrance surprising, coming from such a tiny little bloom?

It is now known as Capanemia superflua...I got one this week and just LOVE it!

It's such a beautiful little gal. I'm happy to hear the name was changed, I couldn't help but think, what a horrible name for such a pretty plant.

Hi Susan

Your last photo is amazing.

I too bought one from Andy's about 6 weeks ago and to my surprise it developed a few flower spikes. You inspired me to try to take some pictures. What a challenge!
