The Tucson area code is (520). Mesquite Valley Growers is an enormous and sinfully tempting general nursery, as if the orchids weren't bad enough.

I might add this should be a good wildflower year here in Arizona, and early March is usually a good time to see them.

It's this weekend. A friend and I are driving to Tucson tomorrow morning to see the show.

I went today. I was busy talking to people so I didn't take photos. There were a lot of nice plants. Among my favorites was a Vandafinetia / Vanda White Crane, whose mommy clearly was the Vanda sanderiana. The judges were measuring it at their table.

Yes, I bought... a Grammatophyllum scriptum the club bought from a vendor to sell, a Trichopilia undulatissima (originally from Andy's) and Brassavola David Sanders from a club member, some tuberose bulbs (Polianthes tuberosa) and some Plumeria cuttings, mixed colors.

The friend who came along gave me some cuttings of a Nepenthes NOID he was recently given by somebody in our orchid society who ran out of space, some Agave and Aloe pups and a chunk of Brassavola NOID.
