Actually, the Academy of Natural Sciences is not on the Drexel campus, but in a nice area just the same. Drexel U only took over the Academy of Natural Sciences a couple years ago following some difficult times financially for the Academy.
Academy of Natural Sciences is becoming part of Drexel - Philly.com

Who all is going??! I'll be there Saturday and Sunday, behind the Fishing Creek Orchids table for most of the day, but I'll venture out for the Fukiran judging event and to shop!! I'd love to meet you if you're going!

Is that the reason why they are moving it out from Longwood Gardens? I heard that there are some issues between Longwood and SEPOS. One of the issues is the location of the sales area. Two years ago, SEPOS used to have their sales area inside the gardens. So for people like me who are only interested of buying orchids needs to pay for the entrance fee of $16.00. But last year, they moved the sales area outside the gardens. This is good for me so I can go straight to the sales area without paying the entrance fee. The only negative about this is some people will occupied the parking spaces just to buy orchids. Regular Longwood costumers needs to fight for the parking area. I have been in Longwood Gardens more than 10 times.

What you described is my understanding as well. None of the people I know in SEPOS or Longwood will talk about it.
I haven't decided what days I'm going yet. We have our DOS meeting tomorrow night and if they still need clarks, I might go Friday. Definitely going Sunday for the Fukiran SOA judging. I think they're having an impromptu meeting/social as well.
If I look at the IPA schedule, I'm a goner, and might have to just get a room.
Cheers.

I'll be there in Thursday for the set-up and Friday for clerking. Then again on Sunday for the tear-down. And of course, there will be a little shopping in there somewhere

I was told by a few different vendors while I was doing stuff for Fishing Creek that part of the reason for the switch is because Longwood was not very willing to accommodate the AOS judges. They wanted the judges to be out and the display areas open by 10am. Given the size of the SEPOS show, would mean EARLY hours for the judges!
