This is certainly show season. My orchids in bud missed the deadline for our show this year so I had to console myself by buying one in bloom. Next week is the West Shore Orchid Society show (near Cleveland), supposedly the largest judged show in Ohio. If my two decide to stop stalling, maybe they will make it for that show. If not, I will probably look for another consolation prize. Win-win.

I wish I could go to Longwood this year, Bob. It's usually the same weekend as my society's show but this year they don't coincide so it's a possibility... If only I wasn't so busy this month!

I want to see the Longwood show, but it is a really long drive from here- may see if someone in my society will be going and carpool. If I could afford it, I would just fly.

I'll be there for the display set up (AND first dibs on the vendor goodies !) and take down and possibly the Saturday on my own. For me, it's the only away show I never want to miss !!!! The whole place is just fantastic !! If you get bored looking at all the chids (heheh) you can just wander through all the observatory side buildings !!!

I just found out about this show last night while looking at cattleya pictures on Waldor orchid website.
Well, those dates coincide with my moving days. Dang!

Then I saw the next one in May, and I realized it's going to be in Florida. quite far from here.

so I am going to the shore orchid festival in June which I attened last year and brought home this stunning Dendrobium nobile Oriental Smile Fantasy.

This year, I hope to bring home some fuuran and cattleyas now that I'm moving to a sunny apartment.

Well, all who will attend Longwood garden show, enjoy! I hope to attend next year.
