Susquehanna Orchid Society show! oct. 21-23

I got a garbled voice mail message - don't know from whom - asking me to bring plants for the (@$%(^*&%&%mmmpphhhhhh) display.

Anyone have any guesses who called?

Well today was just a whirlwind!!

I was the clerk for Cattleya Alliance and Oncidium Alliance.

I know cattleyas pretty well and a little bit about oncidiums.
However, many of the plants were not entered into the proper category
Sooo....we also had to move plants into the proper categories on the fly as we went along.

I called it "Trial by Fire"

The judges were very nice and really made the best of it.

And after it was all over, I saw that my exhibit had THREE ribbons on it
Two first place and one third place

you guys shouldve seen her exhibit! it was great!

i was able to shadow a judge. we did the cyps and vandaceous plants. it was great!! the judsges were so nice! glad i wasnt clerking though!

Bob and Denise;

Sorry we missed the two of you. My wife and I were there most of Friday afternoon. Scored an awesome mini Catt and Angreacum from Fishing Creek, and as always a mess of supplies from Ray. Unfortunately, I passed up a Restrepia cuprea where the flowers were all finished that I regret not snapping up now.

Really too bad we'll miss coming on Saturday. We have our Delaware Orchid Society greenhouse tour.

yeah, too bad sorry. i was busy most of the afternoon. we didnt get done with AOS judging until maybe 2pm. so i wasnt really out and about looking for people. im sure we ran into each other though!

fishing creek has some nice stuff! from fishing creek i got an LC mini twilight x ( lc drum beat x Lc love knot) in bud! it cost me $20! thats an insane deal! and all of steve's plants, especially mini catts are gerat! superb quality and great little plants! im so happy!

i also got a C. chocolate drop x Ctna why not, from the member sales. exploding with roots all over! $5!!!! originally came from steve then the other member, now me!

and i also got a Doritis champorensis var alba 'mauna kea snows' x self
