I had a great day, too. It was nice seeing Maria and Ysa. I got a few little unique plants:

Gur aurantiaca (in flower) from Whimsey Orchids

Lockhartia Gold Speck x self from Louis Del Favero Orchids

Catt intermedia var amethystina 'Aranbeem' AM/AOS from Hennington Farms (2 big buds)

I am going back on Sunday, too!

We went down yesterday on a bus with members from several societies. It was terrific! I scored a Cattleya guttata var leopoldi 'Orchidglade' in bud! And of course a few other things, 14 I think. There definitely was a buying frenzy going on.

Is there a (monetary) advantage in going the last day also? Do the vendors mark down the plants any or is it just that you can carry only so much at a time?

Had a blast today at the show with my supportive (and tolerant) wife and some friends! Spent almost as much on lunch as I did on orchids. Nonetheless, came back happy and with these 3 little guys:

and on the way home I stopped by Bakjong Orchids and pick up thier last Ascocentrum ampullaceum var. moulmeinense. Plus 6 peices of teak for mounting.

A little over $1K, but then again, not all for me.

Looking at the list, it doesn't look complete. There's few plants from Dan and Margie that must be at my buddie's house, plus a few dendobrium species and some Oncidiums I picked up for my SIL.....

Wow, Brady! You are out of control! But it sounds awesome. I am going back tomorrow to pick up my plant from the display tent. I am going around 3 pm so I won't have too much time to spend money. haha

I am now the proud owner of 2 Ascda Crownfox Butterball Sunshine. I forgot that I bought the same one in December. Duh I guess that I just got "Orchid Brain Freeze". Gonna fill up that new Shade House!!

Thanks for the reminder Lorraine. I'll have to remember to update the list of orchids I already have and take it with me next year. Every once in a while I get tempted to buy a plant only to find out I already have it.
I can pretty much remember those that have already bloomed but the others....I need my list.

So I went today. Couldn't stay until later to get the good deals because a) It started raining and there was lightning and thunder. I will more likely get sick from gretting soaked buying plants b) I had to make it back to go to a baby shower and c) If I showed home with soo many plants my mom would have a hissy fit... I ended up getting just 5 plants with 4 being species. Here are the pics. The last plant is a Grammatophyllus scriptum var. citrinum
