Beverly,
I bet ALL vendors are trained to offer you to ship your purchase gladly...

So my hat didn't make it here on time for Friday, but I'm going back on Saturday morning with my sister and nephew...JUST TO LOOK. (ha!)
I'm gonna have to use my ridiculously big garden hat.

Well, that hat will be very useful. It was sooooooooo hot today. Between 90 and 95. And humid. Then about 2:30 it started sprinkling. And the mosquitoes came out of hiding. It was lovely! But the temps did go down to about 89. Woohoo! My hair looked terrible by the time I left.

Suezie, did you get the weekend pass? ($35) Knowing you, you'll prolly be there every day.
I didn't go down with BOS as I had to finish up the sprinklers on the vanda structures I built. Plus, I can collect final payment on that, so I'll have more $$ to blow
I secured a loaner wagon, especially since I'm shopping for two (ain't it great spending other folk's monies on chids?) So tomorrow I gotta go empty the bank, and come sattidy, I'll be slogging a cart of goodies....

Well, I guess I will let my little secret out of the bag...MUHAHAHA
NOT to be outdone insanely collecting chids, there were two vendors I contacted from the Redland show listing and I pre-ordered six cattleya divisions and 5 cattleya species seedlings between the two!
I have three division now from one vendor; one in sheath with a bud: L. purpurata wekhauserii var. striata
It will probably bloom closer to summer
The other two are putting up new growth atm.
I am still waiting for the other shipment (8) which will come sometime next week.
My big haul from that is the division of C. eldorado pincelada.
I know, I am certifiable
But I couldn't take it! I had to get "something" from the Redland show!

It was a beautiful day. Hot but there was a nice breeze blowing and not a cloud in the sky. The vendors said that people were buying lots of plants this year. Is the recession over? I had a wonderful day looking at orchids, watching the people and chatting with vendors. Just another day in paradise.

I just came from Redlands!!!
Took the day off.
I met Ysa (who's very nice!) and saw Susie again (hey Susie, congrats!)
Bought some NICE orchids primarily from Plantio La Orquidea and Hamlyn Orchids (schomburgkias and Schomburgkia hybrids)
Found a good sized Dendrobium moschatum and bought some terete Vandas (2 albas of course) and 2 of a new hybrid)
I also bought 2 orchids from kawamoto, one which I'm REALLY excited about because it's a Grammatophyllum hybrid.
I'll post pics later.
Honestly, I never realized what a feeding frenzy it is the first day. It's DEFINITELY worth going on the opening day...I saw lots and lots of good stuff selling out quickly.
I'm going back tomorrow morning; my sister wants to go!
