If I had my way, that would be the perfect schedule! The only question would be how next months rent will get paid!
I still have Susanne's 19 orchid purchase in my head! I wonder how many I'm going to cave in and get *sigh* I can't wait!

I'll be there for sure! Not sure yet which day. I agree it is a great show. That is because almost all the good vendors go to this one, including some that do not ship plants. I love being able to pick out my own plants. It is very hard to control my spending at this show!
Now, just a word to those of you going for the first time... It is outside in a park and by May we are in full summer here. It is hot as you know where and the sun is very intense (very little shade). Then again, rainy season could start early and we will get very wet (which is at least cooler). Not just a sprinkle either, it really comes down hard.
I have always wondered why they have this show so late in the year. February would be great outdoors! Oh well, it is still worth it. Don't forget your sunscreen!

That's so true. When I went on May 21, 2005 it was HOT HOT HOT!
Folks were doing funny little dances around the park...spot some shade...get to it quick!...sit a few minutes...but not too long...look at all those orchids for sale!!!
*The sunscreen is a great point to bring up Susie. The blazing sun is different down here...you can get sun=damaged extremely quickly.
Hats, sunscreen, even an umbrella for some protection is a good idea

I will absolutely be there. It is a spectacular show with lots of vendors. I have not been to the show in about 2 years so I just cant wait.
As for the heat it is rediculous from what I remember the couple of times I've been. It would make alot of sense to have this show in Feb. or Mar. as susiep stated but it is a fantastic show.

Any of youse complaining of the heat will never make it out alive in Fakahatchee in the middle of august.
Oh, don't forget the bug spray either. Looking at the pics, it seems a lot of folks had shopping carts and wheel barrows for shopping.
Can I bring my golfcart down? Seats two with shade, flatdeck area about 16 sq ft. I could even put a huge cooler on the back and hand out sippy cups of cold water...
Heck, if I put a hitchball on the rear of it, I can tow the trailer around for another 8-10 folks.

I am by no means complaining of the heat, have lived down here my whole 31 years of life so I'm used to it. Just it would have made sense to do it during a cooler time.
As for the golf cart come down I'll jump in the trailer you pull around on it!!

Ha Ha! I love the golf cart idea! Never happen, but funny to think about. Last year at the show, Michael from RF Orchids was giving out paper umbrellas to protect you from the sun. That was very thoughtful!
