I'll be there Saturday morning to pick up my pre-orders from Floralia and Bella Vista (rupicolous laelias) and perhaps look at what Andy and Indian River Orchids has brought. I've been buying off my wish list (miniatures) and have to be good. But IT'S. SO. HARD.

I hope everyone has a great time. Don't forget to take a hat or water.....it's hellishly hot there.

I might just do that. I wonder if that lady that was making crepes at the AOS show will be there? Those were really good!
Hi Susan,

I went to Office Max and picked up one of the folding plastic book carriers on wheels. Its great. But also you could use one of the old fashioned luggage carriers and a plastic milk type crate bungee corded on to have the same thing.

Crepes sounds good I'm packing a lunch since I don't know what they will be offering. Saving my $$ for chids. I'll have the cell phone on & charged. See you there.

I'll be looking for some semi terete vandas to put in the garden around a couple palms. Hope to find a good price. The search is on.....

PS... I take the plastic carrier everywhere. You never know what you'll find at any show. Great for the heavy stuff on the bottom!

I've been to Redlands. I want to say stuff is a little cheaper this year. Maybe it is my imagination. I'm mostly a novelty Phal person, so I wouldn't be a good judge of what is an appropriate price for other things, but honestly I see $15 and $20 tags where in years past they were $20 and $30. I saw $5 and $10 Phal species which is kinda crazy. I don't know if it is the economy and they are pricing lower or if people are over stocked because of the economy. Seems to me there is a bigger variety of items this year too. More species and more things like Bulbos and other non-Cat, non-Oncidium, and non-Vanda.

I hope that helps some of you thinking of coming. I know if you were looking to save money, maybe it doesn't help :-)

Good luck everybody. It is not so hot this year. Lots of people today. I left around lunch. Might go back in a bit.

Yes, believe it or not, I usually pass Andy's by, but my friend is a species nut, and I looked around there while he was looking and I saw Haraella something

Hi everyone,

Came back from the orchid show with my 20 rupicolous laelias (which turned into like 25 because some of them separated when I was cleaning them up, 1 renanthera hybrid and one species from Andy's orchids. I also picked up my pre-ordered Eulophiella elizabethae flask...I actually got to see a division in bloom and I"M IN LUB..... I have to deflask these tomorrow and I'm excited and a little worried. It's the most expensive flask that I've bought and don't want to kill the little eulophiellas.

Next purchase is a flask of Eulophiella rompeleriana.......Sigh!!!!!!

NO HARAELLA!! Have to purchase this online!

Also managed to piss off some grower when I asked if they tested their heirloom cattleya divisions for viruses. ........OOOPSIE>

So, came home, spent several hours trimming, cleaning, watering, fertilizing and will pot all these up tomorrow.

Bella vista and Floralia Rock!!

Didn't see much of anything else as I had committed to spending only what I had pre-ordered. Although I spent 40.00 more I think I behaved.

My goal next year is to enter one of my orchids for competition.

Until next year Redlands!!

I got 10 orchids, all species. But I suspect at least one is wild collected. I looked around, but basically only bought my one pre-order, and one from andy's orchids. I didn't realize it was such a drive from Delray - 87 miles one way!
