Dave - that phaius was actually a phaiocalanthe, and stood around 3 feet tall, if I remember correctly. The contrast between the backs and fronts of the petals was amazing.
To my fellow canucks - I only walked away with two plants, but both of which I have been yearning after for a very long time. A leptotes bicolor - common, but I got a super deal on this one (10 bucks for multiple growths!) and my prize, an ancistrochilus thomsonianus (although I suspect it might actually be rothschildianus). I have been searching for one of these babies for MONTHS!
Other news I forgot to mention - my photo won 2nd place ribbon! I was pretty excited
