Default Spokane Orchid Show

Anybody thinking of going to the Spokane Orchid Show? I am considering going, but I'd have to convince a friend here at school or my brother to take me. If someone here is going, it would be cool to meet you! That would give me enough incentive to try to find a ride.

Location and time:
Spokane Orchid Show
Saturday and Sunday, March 28-29
Southside Senior Activity Center
3151 East 27th Street
Hours: 12 - 6, Saturday
10 - 3, Sunday

Evan, where in SW Washington are you from? I don't think I would go, but if you go, check out the Orchidaceae's booth. According to their site, Orchidaceae, Inc., they would be there.

Mark and Joan are from Walla Walla, WA. Their greenhouse is a state-of-the-art. Their plants are exceptionally good. I've visited them twice.

I'm from the Longview/Kelso area, but I'm going to college at WSU, Pullman. Orchidaceae's website is where I found out about the Spokane show. I'd love to visit their greenhouse on my way home one of these days, but that will have to wait until I have my own car at school. For now, I depend on my brother for transport, and he would definitely not want to stop. I'm considering trying to persuade my parents to take me, since they could drop me off at Orchidaceae and then go tour the local wineries. Then it would probably be easier to get them to pay for some orchids too!

I really like Orchidaceae's Phal. stuartiana, but not sure I'm ready to fork over the $30 + shipping for it. Maybe if I saved up for that and a few other plants in one go. I'm sure it's worth it, but I am my parents' child: a penny pincher to the core.

Are you sure you aren't related to my kids and grandkids? That sound like something they would say.

It usually works for them, good luck.

Unfortunately no. Funny, doesn't even feel like I had a weekend. I had so much homework it was ridiculous. Now I'm really

I wish I had been able to go, but it just didn't work out

My consolation is that I'll be ordering 6 or 7 chids in May after school gets out. I'd order them now, but I don't want to ship them to school (it's still snowing here! )and I don't want to ship them to home (much warmer) without me being there to greet them. My parents mean well, and they're slowly learning, but I'm not ready to trust them that far just yet.

Ahh, well, someday I'll make it to an orchid show. Next school year I'll have a car....

If you happen to be your home during Mother's day weekend, come by to Oregon Orchid Spring show. I will arrange "will-call" tickets for you and your friends ( family ).

Thank you so much, but I will be working on Mother's Day weekend. I work at a local nursery in Castle Rock during the summer and Mother's Day weekend is when they really need all the help they can get. I'll literally be working the day after I get home too. I could get that weekend off, but I'd feel horrible abandoning my boss like that. Darn, I just hate when things work out like that!
