Hi there again,
I'm planning on going, just not sure which day. I would be in the market to buy one or two....do you know from past experience if they are "picked over" on Sunday or will they still have plenty of specimens? And are the prices reasonable....just for say a smaller phal or oncidium? Thanks,
Dan

The prices are actually very good. Hopefully Geoff sees this thread. He can help you more. Id think that the vendors would have some good plants left on sunday.

Hi Cullen and Dan,
Thank you Cullen for adding the post about our upcoming show. It should be one of the best show's again this year.

To help answer Dan's question, yes there will be lots of plants left for sale on Sunday, but they will be picked over and the best ones may be gone. But there are always a few gems that no one noticed on Saturday that are still available on Sunday.

As for prices, you can usually get a nice plant for around $15 to $20 dollars depending on the size. And of course they go up from there with some of the rarer and valuable plants that go for around $75 to $100 or more. But since you are a beginner Dan, if you see a plant that you like please ask the vendors their opinion since you are a beginner and let them know your growing conditions, where you will be growing the plant, inside or out, low light or high light, humidity and so on. That way the vendor can help you pick out the right plant that will live and re-bloom for you. You also might think about visiting one of our society meetings that are held on the first Tuesday of every month at the Zilker Garden Center. You can learn a lot of valuable information from our members, like Cullen.

See you all at the show next week!

Thanks, Geoff! I am looking forward to going right at 10am on that Sunday. It is my birthday that week so I know I will find something good to treat myself! I mainly grow phals and also looking for compact growing catts that will grow under my new light setup.
Thanks again!
Dan
