South Central Washington Orchid Society Show and Sale - Orchid Board

Our show and sale is this Saturday, May 3rd, and Sunday, May 4th, at the Manor at Canyon Lakes, Kennewick, WA. It opens Saturday at 11am until 5pm and Sunday at 11am to 3pm.

I will be there for judging on saturday. It is my first time at this show since it conflicts with the much larger Vancouver show. Should be fun!

This will be my first time entering. Any tips for making one's orchid look its best?

It sort of depends on what type of orchid you are exhibiting but you definitely need to groom your plant. Get rid of dead leaves, make sure there are no pests on the plants and stake them if they need it. Also, be careful how you get them to the show. Many plants are damaged in transit so package and cushion them well.

Make sure you enter your plants in the proper class. If you have questions, ask someone!
