I just want to do a shout-out to all the people that made this past weekend's Key West Orchid Fair the biggest and best ever!
To all of the members and friends who helped plan the event and then worked long hot hours to register plants and set-up the exhibit, set-up the show site in a 4 hour morning and be ready to open the gates at noon on Friday, work long hours over the 3 days of Fair doing raffles, membership, member co-op tables and just general ambassadors and to our members who shlepped food and drink and grilled and served food for 2 1/2 days and then late yesterday afternoon....tore it all down.
To the Key West Garden Club and Monroe County for the use of such a wonderful and unique venue, West Martello Tower, a civil war era fort sitting on Higgs Beach in Key West. Any other Society hold their big show on a beach? In March?
To our vendors: Mac's Asian Orchids, OFE International, Soroa Orchids, Quest Orchids, Jim-N-I Orchids, Kazumi Garden, Ecuagenera, Just One More Orchid and Orchids365. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your unwavering support of our Society.
And finally a huge thank you to the nearly 3500 residents and visitors to our little island that came by the show over the weekend to check out and learn about orchids and the gardens at the fort. Thank you for your curiosity and for supporting our great vendors.
