Default International Orchids Show in Thun, Switzerland

just to show some few pictures I took in Thun before my camera end up falling into the water... (I was trying to take a picture of a giant Paph. Fabienne Louves - new hybrid registered this year)

Phrag. besseae
Phrag. jason Fischer
Phrags. ???
this is a small Paph. fabienne Louves. Not the giant one that won several prices and was in the middle of the water fountain, where my camera end up taking a refreshing bath: Paph. Magic Lantern (first time I see it live)
this Lycastes was at least 1,5 m wide
Masdevallia ??? and the whites are Masdevallia coccinea
Psichopsis Mariposa
this is the largest epidendrun stanfordianum I've ever seen: almost 1 m tall!!!

Dendrobium Nobile Hybrid Dendrobium thyrsiflorum (if I remember it right)
gorgeous Maxillaria sophronitis
Sophronitis brevipedunculata
Cattleya x guatemalensis, Laelia purpurata, and Laelia tenebrosa
Cattleya intermedia and Phalaenopsis ???

Does anyone here can identify this Phalaenopsis? It is supposed to be a especies, but had no name-tag at the show

Looks like it was a nice show, lots of neat orchids! I so want the Lycaste and Sophronitis, they are too gorgeous!(as well as all the other ones lol) I hope your camera is ok. It would be a shame to have to buy a new camera instead of new orchids!

Hi Camille, It was indeed a nice show. I had a lot of fun there with two friends of mine... as per the camera, I gave it immediatelly to a Nikon dealer in Thun to check for it. He called me today and the camera should be here by Friday the latest... and as per buying orchids... I am now just playing around in NWO site whether I should order the pink Neo I did not get by mistake in Thun and also a yellow one and a variegated one and and and

Thanks, Ramon, for sharing those great photos with us. That is certainly the largest lycaste I have ever seen. What a display.

Wonderful photos (and glad to hear that your camera is okay!)!! It looks like a really great show. Re: getting plants from NWO - do it!!! Otherwise you will end up waiting another whole year to be able to order again!

Did you end up getting a Lycaste? I liked the one suggested for the project - but after seeing them at the London Show, I had second thoughts. They do not get very tall, but they do seem to easily get very wide!!

Thanks for sharing your photos!!

Shakkai, at the end I did not get the Lycaste. I also say it was because they get easily too large... but in fact I know it was because I did not see a nice plant I could buy at the show

as per NWO.. I have already made a list: Benizusume (Pink), Kohou (Yello), and Kotou Fukurin (Variegated)... I have until end of may to decide... let's see how I do with my Amami and my Hisui until then... If I do not kill them before I would even ask a colleague from Taiwan to bring bring me some Fu-Ran Pots in May

In case any one here is interested, I have had the chance to meet the owner of the nursery that had those tiny pink Phals in exhibition... He has confirmed they were all Phal wilsonii... Amazing little species
