Default Orchid to grow beside Nepenthes?

I have a Nepenthes rafflesiana potted in 100% sphagnum.
I thought I could grow some orchids around it.
What's a good one?
It needs to be sun-tolerant, hot-growing, likes sphagnum and miniature.

Miniature, hot and sun-tolerant tend not to go together in the orchid world.

I might recommend sundews (Drosera.) There are tropical ones that grow all year. They are very easy from seed. Just put it on the surface of your sphagnum and keep moist to wet. Look up Drosera binata.

The problem with sundews is that they need the RO/Distilled water. I don't water my nepenthes with RO or distilled water (They can handle up to 200ppm).

It's been a long time... I think D. binata may be more tolerant than the others. Anybody else?

That is indeed true. The "mini" is the harder part. Of course, just how "mini" you are wanting will be your limiting factor. Tell us what you personally would consider the largest a plant could be an still fit your "mini" category. If plants that top out at around 6 inches (approx 15cm) works, then you could investigate minicatts. (Just make sure you ask the vendor just how big their "mini" gets. Some vendors like to play "footloose and fancy free" with the term.) If plants under 12" count, then there are a number of catts in the 9-12inch (approx 23-30cm) range as well as Maxillaria tenuifolia. You might also consider Tolumnia.

You could always give Lepanthopsis astrophora 'Stalky' a try. For me, it has been pretty tolerant of bright light, high temperatures and the plant is less than an inch in height (the flower stalks make it a little taller). It tolerates fertilizer in small doses but the moss needs to stay damp at all times.

The plant I want in this case would have a height of under 8cm (about 3 in). Since I don't think any orchid satisfies this criteria, I could wait until my nepenthes gets bigger.

It sounds nice, although IOSPE lists it as "Full shade" and I can't find it here.
