Sue, That 1%FOC is a great idea - and I really think that not just Societies, but commerical orchid growers should be encouraged to participate. I certainly would be happy to add 1% to any orchid order if that money were going to go towards one of the conservation groups.

I've just taken a life membership with Kew Gardens - love the place!! And they also do a lot of conservation work:
