Default First orchid haul in a very long time

I am restarting my collection on my office windowsill until my home growing area is pest/disease free. I have a nice office with large south-west facing windows that were just begging to be filled (and I’m just impatient to get new orchids- I've shown restraint for the past TWO years!)

So I placed an order at a very good German nursery (Orchideen Lucke) that I had bought from once, 4 or 5 years ago. As usual, the plants are in excellent condition. I got mostly Phals, 3 of them being replacements for plants that I had to trash and the Den is also a replacement:

*Phal equestris B#100 AM/AOS- This one is supposed to have amazing dark, rounded flowers, and from my reading on internet, apparently it’s 4n. And the first awarded clone in my collection!

*Phal equestris albescens- Not the alba version, but is white with faint purple coloring on the lip. I had an alba, but I love all equestris!

*Phal gigantea- I haven’t tossed my old one yet because I’m waiting on the results of the virus test (been patiently growing it for 3 years and it was starting a spike, which has now stalled)

*Phal Kuntrarti Rarashati (Phal equestris x venosa)- It’s supposed to be nearly as free flowering as equestris. It arrived with a small spike, so I can’t wait to see what the blooms will look like!

*Phal (ex Dtps) Anna Larati Soekardi ‘Rainbow’ (Phal pulcherrima x parishii)

*Dendrobium Rainbow Dance- Has lovely purple flowers, and the shape of them is similar to its Den unicum parent.

I was a bit upset with myself after I placed the order, because I realized too late that now that I have my driver’s licence and a car, I could have easily gone to the nursery one weekend instead of paying 20€ in shipping fees. I could have gotten an extra plant with that! They are only a 1h drive from where I live… But maybe it’s a good thing I didn’t go this time, because I would have been grabbing everything in sight!

Just for laughs I’ve added a photo of a colleague’s office, who is also an orchid addict. Her entire desk is covered in orchids, as is the top of her filing cabinets (not visible in the photo). But she mainly has Noids that catch her eye.

Wow Camille, nothing like orchids to brighten up a window! Very pretty and healthy looking plants, good for you.

I live very close, 30 min, from Al's Orchids and I visit often. I love picking out my plants and just looking at everything he has growing. I began my Neofinetia obsession at Al's. I agree about shipping costs but I also like picking the plant myself and I always find extras!

I hope you soon have your issues with your home plants under control, you're on a roll now!

Lovely collection, I'm happy to see Kuntrarti Rarashati named, and yes, it is a generous bloomer. Also has those bright green leaves that just seem to glow.

Wow, I thought I had a lot of plants and orchids in my office, but it looks like you have even more than me! Isn't it relaxing to work with so many green friends?

I only have 7 plants in my office for now. The photo with the desk covered in orchids is a colleague's office!
