Default Monthly Status Reports - March 2008

With all the excitement about Project #6, I completely forgot to post a status report....

Mostly highlights of things at the moment, I may get to have a closer look at things this weekend.

In flower:
Some Phals that have been flowering for months now.
(I took all of my Phals into the office to grow there. It freed up space at home - always a good thing! - and its warmer there, so they like it better. Unfortunately, its drier there too, so unlike at home, I need to worry about humidity...)

Lepanthopsis astrophora 'Stalky'
Den. kingianum hybrid (one of the 6 young plants I got a few months ago) this one isn't coloured as nicely, and no detectable fragrance, so it is probably going to go to a new home - the chance you take with unflowered hybrids!
Den. aberrans - still in flower, and now safely separated from the Den. tetragonum. Sue, I soaked it really, really well and because the roots look completely different, I was able to separate them without damage to either one.

In bud:
Paph. hainanensis (now Paphiopedilum appletonianum) - ANY DAY NOW!!
Trudelia cristata (syn. Vanda cristata) - one big fat bud should open shortly.
Den. williamsonii - all four mature canes have large fat buds, should open soon.
Den. unicum - spikes have just started along the side of the canes, some time to go yet, I expect...

In growth:
Phrag. St. Peters 'Cornish Cream' - just starting a new growth, and I'm so happy that it seems to like it here!
Phrag. Silver Rose - new growth starting
Coelogyne nitida - new p-bulb, or flower spike?
Den. kingianum - the most mature plant has started shooting new canes! I think its time to repot, as it is now overgrowing the sides of the pot its in.
Brassia Eternal Wind 'Summer Dream' (or is that backwards?) has 4 new growths. Its going to look spectacular this year.
Gomesa crispa - new p-bulb forming. I got this as a young plant, so I'm hoping that it will flower from the new growth this year.
Sophronitis coccinea - two new p-bulbs are maturing now. Maybe one day I'll see flowers?

I'm sure I've forgotten something, but its time to leave for work...
