So I decided to order some orchids online while I was stressed out and studying for an exam. Thought it'd make me happy. Went through the website's selections and saw some I liked. One orchid's name said "Pot. something something..." I thought "Pot." was like "Dend." and was some kind of orchid I'd never heard of before. A week later and my orchids come in the mail. Besides other orchids, I get one 4-5 inch "pot" of 23 little orchids. Lol.
I had to Google it, too. Those flowers will be lovely......someday in the distant future. So, in the meantime, you have 23 tiny seedlings. That will teach you to order orchids when you're in a brain fog from exam stress!
Ha! Yes! Good lesson. I like them just the same. Will be a fun challenge to bring them all up. @Orchid Whisperer, I got them from carmelaorchids.net in Hawaii.
I think that kind of Cattleya cross grows very fast. Best of luck!
Do you know whether they are hybrids (seedlings, each of which will be a little different from the other), or mericlones (tissue cultured plants, all of which should be identical)? Carmela Orchids sells the different kinds of compots from different pages on their Web site. One page is titled Cattleya Hybrids and the other Cattleya Mericlones.
