I dare you to top this
So, last fall I bought an expensive Maxillaria buchtienii from Andy. I've doted on it, written about it, and it just now bloomed!!!!
It only gets watered with rainwater. This morning I took a gallon jug from the pantry, added fertilizer and soaked a mount and my Maxillaria. As I walked past, I noticed a strong vinegar smell...
Several flushings later, I hope all will be well. And there is no one to blame but me! Last night I was rummaging for a decaf K Cup and must have mixed up the gallon jugs. I remember thinking I should dispose of that vinegar which the Chief used to use to descale the pet burbblers...
Top that guys.🤤😲😢

It will be fine since you flushed it well. I use vinegar sometimes to help lower the pH for some of my plants.

Reminder to self: move spray bottle of distilled vinegar away from plants or make better distinguishable from water sprayer.
I have too many similarly looking bottles!

Yeah, to prevent accidents, I have a spray bottle containing bleach with BLEACH written all over it, visible from any angle.
The spray bottle is used to disinfect tools with straight-from-the-bottle chlorine bleach (which are thoroughly rinsed after getting the bleach).

I have been productive today, repotting multiple baby catts into s/h and spring cleaning my growing spaces.
One of the newest, my baby Rlc. Volcano Plum, had a new growth started and it seemed like the perfect time to transfer over s/h. I let it soak in a KelpMax solution for and hour or two and set to work gently prying off old bark pieces thinking "wow, this has got a nice root system." I turn it over and something small and spiky and purple sticks to my finger and my heart drops...
I had just broken off my little baby's new growth.
