Totally awesome. What started this? Is it a school project?

Boredom, and the lack of any 3D orchid models(besides phals).

Also, you can find a bunch of designs for orchid pots on the internet(try thingiverse, it has a lot of cool designs).

This is actually the third one that was printed(the other two are much smaller).

Oddly enough, the plastic filament smells like maple syurp when it is melted.
So cool !!! An unkillable orchid. That's the kind I need

Some easy ones are
-Ophrys
-Certain Bulbophyllums (Try echinoblaum or grandiflorum)
-Chiloschista (How small can you go??)
-Dendrobium which is not spectabile
And for a challenge, try making an accurate paph. I'll give you the outlines for parts (including pollinia) and then you can go ahead making your model.

I was unhappy when I saw no models of orchids(well, except phals) and decided to make my own(that are as realistic as I can make).

does it cost much to use a 3D printer? I was confused because I spend on it a lot of money did u find cheap one? on market prices are really high. In my case, a 3D printer was just an expensive machine that was gifted to me on my birthday. I sold it and decided to buy a much more important and practical device - a color printer. On this site www.mrdepot.ca, I found a quality printer of my dream. These guys claim that they have the best printers and cartridges. I am absolutely happy with my new printer and definitely use their services again! Check out their site for more info!

About 3 years late here - maybe.

I don't think it costs much to 'use' one. The bulk of the cost will be in buying one - a decent, hopefully reliable/dependable one.

I think that the rolls of plastic for doing the printing doesn't cost a great deal.
