Orchid Buying Guideline for 2017

[QUOTE=estación seca;828450]This has taught me that something I really want is often not available when I go back.[COLOR="Silver"]

If it is something for which I have been searching, something that is on my list, I do buy it right away. However, after all these years of collecting, I have gone through many phases and I think I am done with the impulse buying. I find that if I have too many orchids, I do not enjoy them as much.

I applaud Everyone for their restraint . I limit myself to two orchid shows per year where I buy orchids exclusively, preorder for those and take only cash with me- it seems to help...

I am hoping to only buy from places where I can reasonably drive to, which for me is one show, and 2 nurseries. I do get carried away with ebay though. It's so handy

I really enjoy all of the replies to this thread. So glad to know that others share the exquisite torture of orchid lust.

The people around me just don't understand. The local orchid society meets in an inconvenient location for me, so that is not an option right now.

Collecting orchids is certainly addicting. If you are trying to limit your orchid purchases, it may be a good thing to not attend OS meetings. Orchid Societies are not places where you help each other get over the addiction; quite the opposite. :|
