Rbarata, how is your tooth? I finished an implant two weeks ago. The temporary was on so well it had to be cut off. My jaw hurt the entire two weeks but, if you look in this old mare's mouth to tell her age, the result will be good!
Today was a paperwork day. I'm working on a certification that will help "punch my ticket." But, I just hate the whole process!
New bath fan project led to towel bars, led to new lights and eventually a bath overhaul. There is so much light, I should be hanging orchids from the medicine cabinet! I thought of leafmite's sunny plant room.
It is a watering day and I am behind. I've been testing all stages of water and am now more confused than ever! I've asked Estacion to straighten me out but, he may not have the patience.
Yesterday I rescued a catt...And we will see how long it takes to nurse it back to health. Cody gave me the parentage so, I have an idea what to expect. And, if I can't get it to bloom my lawyer will have another orchid.
I decided to divide my Wilsoniara "Gay Spice," I'd be happy to share. No room for multiples or a huge plant.
John, I heard the same football complaint but, I see bean dip in the cupboard, so I'm sure he's watching anyhow.
Hope you all find joy in the day!

I also hope the tooth is better. It is never fun to be in pain.
I spent the day cleaning and I need to spend some time doing the work for a class that I am taking.
Speaking of large plants, I just bought a start of Elettaria cardamommum. I have no idea what I was thinking!
The closest pet store did not have anything good to use as mounts this time. I will need to keep looking.
Here, it is pretty warm for a winter day:30'F/-2'C. It is January in Ohio. We had some snow but not too much, thankfully.
Good luck with your new set up, jkofferdahl! Dollythehun, your bathroom makeover sounds really fantastic. Light! I love lots of light! I hope your new Cattleya thrives for you!

Hello my friends
My tooth.... well, it doesn't hurt anymore 'cause it's gone! Thank you for asking.

Implants... based on the experience of some people I know that's one thing I'd only do it really necessary. As far as I know it's a really painful, long and expensive process.
Orchid related, got up late and decided not to water most of my orchids today. The weather changed dramatically, temps are higher now (50-60 F / 10-15 şC), overcast with fogs and drizzle, HR=100%, the perfect conditions not to water. It's going to be like this the whole week.
Bought a new Catt and I haven't decided yet where to put it. It has several sheaths so I'm eagerly waiting to see if they bloom. It has to flowers but I think its blooming season is late Spring-Summer.
The rest of the day I haven't done much...need to find the courage to take care of the tax bureaucracy and it wasn't today.
Happy Sunday!

I wanted braces and ended up with an implant. My dentist and oral surgeon were the best and until now, there was no pain.We have dental insurance and that helped. 60 degrees. I'll take it.

2.5.17: A Happy Orchid Sunday to all! I'm late to it today. I've had a lot to take care of and all chores had to be scheduled around two exceedingly important events. But more on that in a minute. Here in Georgia it's cool (low 50s) and overcast, making it a good day to be indoors. Since almost everything I need to do today can be accomplished within the confines of my home, and mostly from within view of a TV screen if necessary, I'm all set.
So that day started, as always, with dogs and orchids. Both are amazingly demanding in the morning, dogs wanting out and water, orchids just wanting water. This week I built a new home for my miniature orchids, a "light table" with screens from which the minis can hang. I've managed to squeeze about 30 orchids into a 2' x 3' area, and have space for a few more if needed (who ever needs more space for orchids?). While the new area will, I hope, be beneficial to my little babies it also adds a good bit to my morning care time - that's not a negative, just an observation.
Other duties for the day are laundry (ongoing) and grocery shopping (now completed). These are the duties which took extra planning, since, as some may be aware, today is SUPER BOWL SUNDAY!!! My hometown Atlanta Falcons are facing the Yankee Voldemorts this afternoon, and the next couple of hours will pass slowly while I wait. Today, though, was made even more special due to a water shortage in the City of Chapel Hill, North Carolina which caused a delay until today of the meeting between My Tarheels and Notre Dame. Thus far this season the only games my 'Heels have lost have been games I missed, making it vital that I watch all of the rest! Notre Dame put up a great fight but fell short. I hope that I'll be able to say the same about the Voldemorts, and so celebrate a Falcons' voctory this evening! The good bourbon awaits the moment....
The table next to the minis is the home of my lone Paph, Paph Raisin Pie, which has a nice, big bud on it. The plant was a gift from my sister and is one of the few Paphs I've ever tried. It struggled under my care at first, so this bud feels special. The Paph sits happily below some really big Phal hybrids which are also in bloom. Nearby, my Phal. heiroglyphica has opened the first bud, on one of three spikes. After a few months of mostly dozing, my cornu-cervis are beginning to become active. And I see a lot of re-potting coming with seedling speciosas and violaceas. As a Phal Phreak, it is in late January and late February where life becomes very exciting!
I wish you all good growing!

Watered. Went to an open garden at the home of a great grower in the local cactus and succulent society. He grows things from seed, and has a huge collection of mesembs (Aizoaceae, ice plants and living stones, mostly southern African winter growers dormant in summer.)
I took photos but need to resize them. New phone doesn't seem to have settings for reducing photo size.
I downloaded a new camera app that permits selecting photo size. My phone has Android 7. Continuing Google's tradition, every version of its products is less useful and more irritating.

Did anyone catch that football game that happened at today's Lady Gaga concert? Like, she was so kind to let all those men play their games around her performance. I don't know what happened with the game, but her performance was what every little gay boy dreams of.
