Dollythehun, those horses look beautiful!

I saw the kids off as they left for college and then began cleaning. I took a break and played around with the plants for a bit, put some pots to soak, some lava rock to bake and then watered the plants. I never quite got back to cleaning. There is always tomorrow. :|

Thank you. It is very therapeutic. Then Doug puts a pole through them and they can go to the garden or stay inside. I'm going to start naming them after 80's rock bands.

I want to be kind as well; he's a desperate person who has lost just about everything and, I still think, has a heart. I'm actually sad for him. Were there any other possibility, even a slight one, that the equipment disappeared in ANY other way then I would buy it gladly. There isn't.

I've decided that all future visitors to John's House will be strip-searched both entering and exiting.

I forgot to mention/address Ms. Huns and Mr. Dry Season's thoughts of drug use. It's a theory. I know he smokes green, but that's pretty meaningless. I have no idea about more expensive illegals, but I saw no sign of their use. Sadly, I know what to look for, but that's another story; in retrospect I see signs of just about everything conceivable. So it's certainly a possibility. I guess I'm more inclined to think he's just a sadly desperate person who is frightfully close to the bottom.
Sorry John I wasn't sure that you were 100% convinced it was him from your first post.

I knew you had a very strong suspicion!

Charles, no offense was taken because none was meant. Apologies aren't necessary! As I said, I admire your human optimism.

I may have been a bit verbose in my reply, but only because previous to today's post there was only one person to whom I'd spoken about it (and she is a dear confidante, by the way) so really nobody knew the whole story except the police. And thus nobody knew why I am/we are so certain.

But this has become a distraction! It's Orchid Sunday, so a day I like to use to celebrate. The offender has essentially gotten away with his act BUT thanks to my wonderful insurance company and Black Friday sales I'm ending up with an equipment upgrade. (He is also now 200 miles from his children - and me - and has to live with himself.) My football team (Carolina Panthers) lost today but my Home Team (Atlanta Falcons) won; despite them being division opponents, it's all OK. And despite the mice declaring war on my orchids in the light table room, the orchids in my kitchen grow window are all doing so delightfully well that Orchid Sunday is still a net gain (and tomorrow I expect to clean up mouse carasses in the light table room before going to work). I'm so excited and amazed that my P schilleriana and stuartiana seedlings are throwing spikes so young that even the loss of a couple of spikes and leaves can't ruin the day; that both of my P thailandicas are also both spiking is icing on the cake. Today is a good day!

That is pretty cool!

I hope that, one day, you will post pictures of them all. The names should be fun.

Well, that one was "Buttermilk" after Dale Evan's horse. The recipient picked the name. The one I am painting now is "Black Sabbath," it has no owner yet. I started it for a Boy Scout fundraiser but time got away from me. The next one will be blue and named "Moody Blues. ( I know, not 80s).

The Moody Blues not only were still around in the 80s, they recorded some popular music. Of course, the music was nothing like what they did in the 70s so maybe you're right!
