I repotted a number of plants yesterday. It's been so warm things are starting to grow for Spring. We had just enough rain at the airport and downtown this week to dampen the rain gauge, but the rest of the metro area got none. So we've had no real rain since early August. Predictions are that there will be no rain as far out as the predictions go, which is mid January.
I would have done more repotting today, but it's also getting ready for tax filing season, so I'm working on getting papers together.
This morning I walked into the sunroom when the sun was shining in. I noticed immediately the sweet fragrance of an Oncidium in bloom. It's Burrageara Nelly Isler 'Swiss Beauty' from the nice shipment I reported on from Hausermann's a week ago. It arrived with one flower open.

Nelly Isler is one of my favorite orchids. I am glad that you have one to enjoy, too. The last blooms on mine dropped off not long ago but some of the new growths have finished so I am hoping for more spikes soon.
Sunday was another busy day. I finished up the Holiday shopping and should have been working on those holiday cards but too much to do.

Orchid Sunday/Valentine's Day
It's been awhile since we posted to this thread. However, Roberta and I had been chatting about a couple unruly orchids I wanted to repot. "Pot" being the problem.
So, the Chief found this piece of redwood in the garage and turned it into this spectacular gift! I suppose we'll also go out to a movie and dinner as well. But, I am very pleased!
I've been very involved in our PADS shelter this winter. I was asked to sit on the Board, so I see more angles of the need. But, I'm a little tired. I need to say "NO" more often.
Lots of plants spiking and I'm looking forward to lots if blooms. ES turned me into Olympic Orchids and I have a box full of babies coming, if it ever warms up. Also Hausermann's open house us next week...I have a short list...I found a good home for my huge Norfolk Island Pine, so there's more room for orchids!
Hope your Sunday and Valentine's day are great! Love to have you share your plans.

Carol, those are great! The Chief has done you well.
I'm working at the library this fine Orchid Sunday. It's a bit rainy here today, but we expect a high of about 70 degrees! I'll take the rain with that temperature. I'm presently in the middle of a bout with pneumonia, having had a CT Scan Friday, but no medications as of yet. Coughing is getting rather tiresome.

I also hope you will be feeling better. I am surprised that they did not give you medication. In the past, when I got bronchitis, they always put me on antibiotics and codeine cough syrup. I hated what the cough syrup did to my head but it is a miracle for the lungs. The antibiotics did the rest. Within a few days, I would feel much better (fever gone, breathing much easier). Maybe you should get a second opinion.
Hausermann's sent me a card about their open house and it prompted me to look at the website. I bought two Phals that were on sale as well as another that is in spike but wasn't too expensive. I usually prefer fragrant orchids but they were quite pretty so I thought I could just set them beside the jasmine when they are in bloom and pretend.
