Congratulations on your AOS award!!
It is typical that all orchids in an AOS judged show are eligible to be pulled for judging. Once a plant is judged, if it scores an average score of 75 points or more, it can get a quality award. To get an AM/AOS, it needs to score 80 pts or more.
If awarded, a clonal name must be provided, and the plant should then have that clonal name after the grex name, along with the AM/AOS from then on. Any divisions of the plant should retain the clonal name and award designation.
In about 2 months or so, you should receive an invoice to pay the award fee. Best way to do it is online where the fee is less. The fee is $28 online if you go to
American Orchid Society. At some point it will be published in the AQ plus computer program. There will be a brief description of the flower and measurements.
By the way, what was the name of the plant?
I have no idea why there are sponsors listed as the AOS judging doesn't have them. Perhaps these are the sponsors of the show?
Peter.
