I have just been making dry. I fine grate kirks Castile fragrance free soap with 1 cup Borax and 1 cup washing soda. The hard part is grading the soap. They said you could use the food possessor but I wanted it fine. I can't have any fragrance in my soap. How do you make yours.

Same here but I am finding out there are allot of bad things in the store bought unless you spend even more so I started making my own. I am trying to get chemicals out of my life if I can. i also make my own lotion and I love it.
es thanks for the pictures and yes on the one next week. I volunteered at our shelter for about 15 years before I quiet. I also did some fostering before I became a foster failure with Richter. Never had 17 thank the good Lord 4 is plenty. I would say having 17 you could defiantly handle most anything. Washington needs cleaned up, both party's.

We used 2 Tbsp of Dawn, 1/3 c washing soda, 1/4 c. borax and some super hot water to mix the ingredients in a milk jug. Then when the recipients took it home, they filled the jog with hot water and I think used a cup.
Years ago, I developed multiple chemical sensitivity syndrome. Long story short: I was allergic to any chemical scent (the VOCs) and got a severe headache and sinus problems. I had to swear off anything scented. What a pain, literally. And most cosmetics have lots of VOCs because they are not tested the same as other products. Thank God my memory of all this is fading. With proper car of my body and leaving my good paying job, my body healed itself. I still cannot go into the treated lumber area of Lowes, nor can I be around insecticides (in an enclosed area) etc. If we ever buy a new home, I will be sunk. Carpet, wallboard, linoleum etc. all offenders.

So you have no problem with Dawn? I use it for my dishes but I will have to say I haven't looked into whats in it. Was thinking about it and wondering if I should be changing and not using it.
OK so I know we're hijacking the thread.
Another Sunday and I need to get off this computer and do something. I'm having a very bad day getting through this board today. I have had to not look at allot of threads. The dogs need walking and I need to do some laundry and change sheets. Oh and of course water orchids.

Arizona Schnauzer Rescue takes in about 200 dogs per year from Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. We occasionally get dogs from eastern California as well. I've been volunteering with the group since 1998, when it was just the coordinator and me. I house rescue dogs and deal with behavior issues before we adopt them out. I also get a lot of the dogs with medical issues, and I have trained a lot of people on caring for a diabetic dog. During one awful summer I had 17 dogs at my house; they just kept coming and coming, and we had almost no volunteers way back then. But I guess if you can manage 17 dogs you can probably manage anything. I have no doubt I could manage any US political party much better than the idiots doing it now.
Here are shots of the picnic, the raffle table, the biscuit eating contest and the costume contest.
The biscuit eating contest is for time, 3 biscuits per dog. My dog Roxie, who came to me via Arizona Schnauzer Rescue, won this contest one year. She is retired now from competition.
The costume contest is judged by the kids under 10.
Next weekend is the Valley of the Sun Giant Schnauzer Rescue picnic. Should I post photos of that, too?

I am 100% certain there are rescue groups near you who would love your help. Help can always be used, even if you can't house spare dogs. People can help with the Web site, help assembling and mailing newsletters, arrange events, drive dogs from one place to another, etc. etc. etc.
Pick a breed. Go to the American Kennel Club Web site. Find your state society for that breed there. They will also list their rescue contact.

Weather here has definitely changed to Autumun typical conditions, with a slight skidding to Winter.
Temps between low 60's and middle 50's, raining as a front passes by. Forecast is for even lower minimum temps around high 30's/low 40's. So, some of my orchids will be tested for lower temps, a Stan Wardii and what I think is a Xylobium variegatum.
Today I went looking for wood baskets for my catt but couldn't find the appropriate size. So I decided to make one myself.
I've found a multi pot holder to use indoors so that I can free up some space and have my plants more organized instead of pots everywhere and in every corner.
