Shannon, how do you make your laundry soap? We make a concentrate at Church to give away every month, so I am curious. Sorry we made you tired. Believe me, I am beat at the end of every day.

You wash your clothes with it. We make a concentrate. Then they just add water and shake and they have detergent.

No. Machine. You use it like regular laundry detergent. It's just cheaper if you make it yourself. Plus, a lot of people like it because it's all natural.

I see...here we use it as a powder or liquid already prepared (and probably more expensive).

I could send you some seeds next spring if you like. I don't have any right now, and there's no point planting them going into winter.

Default AZSchnauzer.org annual picnic

There were about 150 people and about 100 dogs today at the Arizona Schnauzer Rescue annual picnic. It was held at the home of one of the members of the Cactus State Miniature Schnauzer Club. We invite all the people who have adopted a dog from us to this picnic.

Arizona Schnauzer Rescue takes in about 200 dogs per year from Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. We occasionally get dogs from eastern California as well. I've been volunteering with the group since 1998, when it was just the coordinator and me. I house rescue dogs and deal with behavior issues before we adopt them out. I also get a lot of the dogs with medical issues, and I have trained a lot of people on caring for a diabetic dog. During one awful summer I had 17 dogs at my house; they just kept coming and coming, and we had almost no volunteers way back then. But I guess if you can manage 17 dogs you can probably manage anything. I have no doubt I could manage any US political party much better than the idiots doing it now.

Here are shots of the picnic, the raffle table, the biscuit eating contest and the costume contest.

The biscuit eating contest is for time, 3 biscuits per dog. My dog Roxie, who came to me via Arizona Schnauzer Rescue, won this contest one year. She is retired now from competition.

The costume contest is judged by the kids under 10.

Next weekend is the Valley of the Sun Giant Schnauzer Rescue picnic. Should I post photos of that, too?
