Default What I bought for my birthday (Plants)

I went to the GLOS show today at Michigan State University and had a ball. 9 new plants from 4 vendors. Here's what I got

1) Ghost Orchid (what is the current name for this little guy? Jay's site lists it as Polyradicion linenii, as does the Park Service - Everglades.) I have seen it referred to here, as well as on the label, as Dendrophylax lindenii. Also a third genus name that escapes me - I am confused. Rest assured it will be happy in it's new Orchidarium home (I hope).

2) Amesiella monticola
3) Aerangis fastuosa
4) Brassavola nodosa

I already have these three but wanted different seedling samples to experiment with - lighting, etc. All are in the tank at various light levels.

5) Macodes lowii - Rob talked me into this one as it seems to be very rare and I didn't already have one. Now I have 6 different jewells.

6) Phal Mini Mark Holmes in bloom
7) Paph gratrixianum x barbigerum 'Mini' (This is supposed to be a true mini Paph - whatever that means. It should have multiple fans in a 2.5" pot as well as many single flowers once established.)
8) Paph venustum album (This is a standby everyone should have and my first yellow Paph.)
9) Paph sukhakulii in bud. I will be seeing the blossom of this little guy soon, if I care for it properly.

The displays were a class act. The venue was superb (is was at the MSU School of Horticulture greenhouse complex) and the sales area physically removed from the display areas. There were also lectures going on, hosted apparently by MSU. I didn't go to the one starting when we got there - "How to grow orchids under lights". Somehow I didn't see the point.

By the way my birthday was yesterday so I treated myself Now it doesn't seem so long to spring.
