Default The Keepers!

As some here may have heard Ray of First Ray's Orchids is moving his operation and recently offered about 100 orchids free of charge for hauling them away. Well the total count came to 158 plants! I don't have nearly enough winter space for all these plants, and will definitely need to move the bulk of them. But here are a couple that I'll fit in if I need to use a crowbar! #1 is the crown jewel, a nice specimen sized Phrag. Schroederae Penn Valley'AM/AOS #2 a pair of Phrag. Fritz Schomburg #3 Phrag. Rosalie Dixler 'FV' AM/AOS x caudatum v Sanderae 'Select' #4 Coelogyne mooreana. More to come!

A couple more.#1 is Papilionanda Pink Fairy #2 shows 2 Vanda. Larger, upper one is Vanda Blue Tahourdin x Neofinetia falcata. Smaller lower plant is Neofinetia falcata 'Red' x a red Vanda hybrid. The tag is currently misplaced........

I don't know who I am happier for, the generous giver or the grateful receiver! All I can say is "Enjoy, enjoy!" and make Ray proud that his orchids went to a fine home!!!!

We're a long way from any relocation at this point. Greenhouse comes down next week (going to another BCOS member), then I have to have the wood foundation excavated, back-filled with soil, and seeded. I have 22 years worth of First Rays crap (spilled bark, LECA, moss, perlite, charcoal, broken boxes, etc, etc) to get out of the basement. Then painting before the house goes on the market.

We are planning to move to the southern coast of NC, and are considering a power catamaran to do some cruising and fishing.

First Rays will continue in the chemicals/RO/lighting mode, unless I come into a lot of money...
