OK, another question: why is the Checkout not secure?? At the point I am filling out ship-to and payment info, this should be a secure page and it isn't!

All payment processing is done via PayPal, as soon as you get to the checkout page you will be redirected to their secure site to enter your payment details.
We felt it was best to keep payment details off our site at this stage, and let a reputable company handle that part.

Mac huh, I have not tested the site much with a Mac, but it should have a little cart icon in the menu bar. We have a cart link for mobiles.

But my name, address, email and phone number are supplied to that page, and its not a secure form. Thats a show-stopper for me.

Ahh, gotcha, well that is something we can look into, but at this time shipping info is handled securely, just not with an SSL token. It is all passed and hashed for security.

Well, I'm not going to complete a test order until the checkout process is fully secure, sorry. I don't want my name, address and contact info leaking from the checkout.

You're making good progress.
I'm using my Windows 8.1 desktop with the Opera desktop browser (which is based on the Chrome browser.) I haven't tried the mobile version.
The main top menu has entries, left to right, for HOME, BECOME A SELLER, SHOP, SELLERS, STORES and CART.
There is no About menu entry explaining how to use the site. I think viewers expect this and you need this.
There is no explanation of site policies. Viewers need to be able to find the rules quickly. How to return things? How to handle disputes?
HOME has a brief description of what you offer, above the fold, and buttons for Buy and Sell. It took me almost 10 viewings before I realized the home page can scroll down to more information. I would suggest you make that obvious somehow or people won't see the rest of the page.
SHOP leads to the shop. There is an alphabetical list of genera offered on the left. On the right is a grid of plant photos with names and prices underneath. The grid has four columns and six rows, for 24 items displayed per shop page. There is page navigation at the bottom of the page.
I would suggest you put the page navigation at the top and the bottom of each page.
I would suggest you offer the option to change the number of items displayed per page. It is fine to start with 24, because people still have slower connections. You could offer something like 24, 48 and all items. Many people like to select viewing all items on one page. I always do this if possible, and I am quite irritated when online shops only let me see a few things on each page.
The shop display has a default sort order of Newness. The other sort options are Popularity, Average rating, Price low to high, Price high to low. I think a lot of people would want to be able to sort by name. My preference would be to have all item listings on one page, sorted by name. It would be nice if you provided that.
When I navigated through the site, then returned to the shop page, the sort order always returned to the default Newness. I had to change it back to whatever I wanted each time I returned to the shop. This is irritating. I would suggest you make the sort choice sticky, and keep it at whatever the viewer chooses until they change this choice.
Individual listings have tabs for Description, Discussion and Shipping. Some of the individual listings do not have a Description tab. I saw in the FAQs you strongly recommend sellers to fill out this tab. I would put this tab on each listing, even if it is blank, to maintain uniform viewer experience.
The Shipping tab shows some shipping information. There is no mention of dispute resolution nor returns. Perhaps the Shipping tab should be a combined Shipping/Return Policy. Are you going to have a store-wide returns and dispute resolution policy, or have separate policies for each seller? If each seller will have a different return/dispute policy, I would mandate sellers put this information on each listing, or have a link from each listing to the seller's returns/dispute policy.
I clicked on a plant. I see the tabs for Discussion and Shipping. I was able to put something in my cart with the big blue Add To Cart button, choose Cart from the top menu, enter my country, state and Zip code, and see the shipping charge.
From the cart I clicked on Shop in the top menu, and was returned to where I was. I clicked on another plant, got its page, added that to the cart, and removed the first plant. The shipping updated successfully.
SELLERS
STORES
These two menu selections lead to pages that have the same information displayed in two different ways. It is confusing to the viewer. I suggest you drop Stores from the top menu completely. Your whole site is the store in the viewer's mind. What is this about other stores? If your template won't let you do that, be sure the information reachable from these two menu items is quite different. For example, Sellers could be an alphabetical listing of each seller with a paragraph about them, and a link to their individual offerings.
Those are some first impressions. I didn't look at all the stuff in the footer menu. I think you're heading in the right direction.

Just a little heads up.
This site is a good place for people who have never tried selling online but would like their own online store and help developing it.
https://www.prestashop.com/en/
May be of no use to you, but thought it is worth mentioning here.

I want to know if you need to have a spiritual affiliation to qualify for beatification? Does Santa Claus need to decide if you are naughty or nice? Does naughty earn you bonus points? Can you be excommunicated?
Inquiring minds want to know!
