buying mini's can be like going grocery shopping
You look at what you bought and look at the bill. Then you say to yourself "How did I spend that much?!? Everything I bought fits into one paper lunch bag!" *sigh* [At least when you buy one of those god-awfully huge monsters you can say AHHH, yes, that's where the $ went.] Heck I didn't even get anything in bloom! I'm soooo weak. Pathetically so, really.
While I'm at it, I should add that Rob (Little Frog) is an evil man. Taking advantage of someone with so little will power! -- I wasn't even really intending to buy anything at the show. BAD FROG! BAD FROG!
..... On a completely extraneous note ... did any of you know that there is a beer called "Bad Frog"?
Schoenorchis fragrans [& for those who are unfamiliar with this species, this is a blooming sized plant.]
A few jewels
This one surprised me -- I would have expected it to be some kind of Macodes -- it has the same sort of lightning-struck pattern as M. petola ...

I bought a Schoenorchis fragrans from Andy's Orchids and it was about half the size of that and it is supposed to be blooming sized if I remember correctly. Mine has more of a purplish tint to the edges of the leavs, but they sure are cool looking! So far mine has grown two new leaves....and I am patiently waiting for it to bloom!

The Schoenorchis fragrans is a small little plant but it is tough. Mine has been mistreated in many ways since I purchased it and it is still kicking (though no new blooms). IMHO Sch. fragrans likes to be mounted on a slat. As soon as I moved it to a cork/moss mount it started to brown at the leaf base (rot?) and lost some leaves. I've moved it onto a drier mount and now it is growing leaves again. Not sure how to trigger a bloom again, but when it flowers it is beautiful (if you have good vision).
