I may be in New Mexico for a longer time than I thought. I am now considering buying a house. I would get one of those flat roof-adobe (they are actually stucco). It would be either where I am (near Amarillo Texas) or near Albuquerque. And I would like to have a Xeriscaped yard/garden. I am wondering if anyone is into Xeriscaping, and what a reliable source of good information would be.

It's a huge topic. Look up the local Master Gardeners and the U of NM ag department.

Also the water utility will probably have some resources. And look up the
Arizona Metropolitan Water Users Association. They have a lot on xeriscaping, though NM winters are a lot colder and plants will be different.
