I picked up some Orchid Focus at the Cleveland home and garden show. It comes in two formulas, grow formula and bloom formula. I was just wondering if this stuff works or not.
Hi Tim. I've been using Focus Grow for about three months now. I also use RO water. It appears Focus Grow is "smoother" (for lack of a better word) than the MSU (for RO water). I can't complain with the results so far. I use one-quarter tsp with one gallon of RO water witch gives me about 120 tds.
Hi Tim
I've been using Orchid Focus Grow for about 2 years now, and have found my plants to grow well. I only just bought the "Bloom" in November but, as I was away until a couple of weeks ago, ( & didn't dare ask the person who was 'house sitting' to fertilise as well as water ! - I'm afraid I can't comment on the Bloom ..
Hi again Tim. All I can say is it appears to be working for me. I don’t have the Orchid Focus bottle near me so I can see what the directions are; I’ve used quarter tsp per gallon for over two months now. My orchids seemed to do so-so when I was using tap water and they eventually died. Since switching to RO water (I grow primarily in S/H) and using the Orchid Focus everything seems a lot happier (I only use Orchid Focus on my S/H orchids). I have Orchid Focus Bloom that I apply every forth week, but I really can’t say whether that’s helping or not – most of my catts seem to be in season anyway. I’ve never heard of Orchid Champion rooting hormone. I do have Clonex Rooting Gel, but I haven’t had the opportunity to try it on orchids; keep thinking that when my orchids have keiki’s I’ll take a qtip and apply to the keiki to see if roots develop faster. I have used the Clonex to root cuttings of jasmine and other shrubs – and I definitely can say it works faster than Rootone (I haven’t used any other rooting compounds).
If it keeps my orchids happy than I'm happy. I'm going to start using it today but I guess its going to be trial and error for the orchid champion. Thank you very much!!
