The trick is to just buy it and then figure out what to do with it. Like with the giant Elizabeth Palmer Sun Bulb that we ordered this summer. Then the Color Magic Mendenhall. Then the truly giant purple catt from Owen's in Asheville, NC. When i saw this one for sale, I drifted it past my fiancee, thinking she'd say that we had way too many big orchids. Wrong. Book it, she says.
Mine arrived today with excellent packaging and zero damage. What a healthy plant! It's HUGE, with lots of healthy PBs and two sheaths that are definitely in bud. I expect blooms in the next month or so.
The good news, besides the fact that the fiancee is equally excited about orchids, is that she's fully supportive of a shade house next summer and a greenhouse when we settle down. So, my advice is to buy and keep buying. One day you'll turn around and realize you have outgrown your home and well on your way towards a greenhouse, which is every collector's end goal, right guys? Guys?

Ordered mine on the 1st and it's estimated to arrive on the 8th, because Fedex Smartpost, and now I'm seeing why that option isn't recommended for shipping plants.

Just received mine this afternoon and I was floored! Plant weathered the trip well and it came with 2 sheaths ready to pop in the next couple of months. She is residing outside with the rest of the cousins.
I also heartily recommend you get one because it is a great value.

Mine came today... This baby is MASSIVE! Ginormous feels like an understatement! 2 sheaths (one popped open with lovely little buds visible), all big, fat pbulbs. Ray hits it out of the park AGAIN! Can't recommend buying ANYTHING from him more highly! All the plants I've gotten from him have been top shelf but this one takes home the blue ribbon hands down!

One question about these hybrids- how much heat can they handle? Mine are outside in Memphis, so mid 90s during the day, high 70s low 80s at night. My other catts handle it fine, but I know there are some that aren't a fan of the heat.

That's the same kind of temps we've been getting, and they seem to be doing just fine.
