My Luv got a big bonus at work....so I was able to indulge in my addiction. I went to my go to orchid store Island Orchids in Colorado Springs. Lo and behold they had a Psychopsis Mendenhall 'Hildos' for $44.00 and the best part.......it was in spike! This orchid has been on my wish list for a very very long time. Afterwards, I go over to the discount area and find a Coelogyne Jannine Banks 'Snow White' for $5 which I have to have as well. So I take both up to the register and she tells me that she has another Psychopsis that has two spikes but it's $56.00. I refused it and tell her my bf would disown me lol if he knew I went for the most expensive orchid. So I go to the register to pay for my $44 Psychopsis and $5 Coelogyne and then she says that she will give me the Coelogyne for free. Ooooo the ladies that work at this orchid shop are the most lovely ladies ever ❤️ We talked about orchids after that and I learned that she has had a Psychopsis for over 15 years and it had 17 ( I think it was that many or close) spikes and they all flowered at about the same time or at one time all of them had bloomed. She showed me a picture and it magnificent. She had taken it to the Denver Orchid Society show and sale.
