My new grow space

Just wanted to show you my new grow space. Hubby insulated and installed windows on our front porch over the fall, put in a little electric heater, a pair of t-5s, and some orchids went out there this winter. Now it's pretty well stocked as you can see. This spring I said I'd like a place to put some outside and he built me this little deck complete with hanging hooks and plastic benches which are now full of Miltoniopsis and cymbidiums for the summer.

How very nice! My hubby tolerated the plants/orchids in the past...now he doesn't even notice them. Not sure if this is an improvement. It is great that yours supports you in your hobby.

update on my growing space
Just wanted to add an update on my growing space now fully stuffed. Still have some in the house and some on the new deck. Winter coming may be a problem

Autumn is usually a stressful time for me. I always end up giving away quite a few orchids and plants to friends, family and at my Orchid Society.
This year, I bought two gardenias, an extra camellia, an extra pom. tree, an extra 'chocolate' tree and more orchids. I have gotten rid of the citrus trees, the large hibiscus, and will be finding a home for the large Jasmine. When I buy something new, I have to get rid of something old. It keeps things interesting.

I have actually given away a couple of orchids, and may do a couple more. As I am getting into more and more little guys, some of the big ones are going.

You could take those wooden shelves down and get those 5 shelve racks. You can even put lights on them. You have room for at least 2, that is 10 shelves for plants. They can be on wheels to move if you want or leave the wheels off.

I sure don't want my hubby to see this post. He'll disown me
I did consider those, but I decided against them because I don't really want to have more lights than I have and I think without , the plants on the lower shelves would not get enough light. It does get super hot out there when the lights are on. I think I am already cooking some of my chids
