Easter orchids! - Orchid Board

It has become custom for me to get an orchid or orchids for every holiday of the year since my obsession began. I picked up these two off the discount rack at my local orchid shop, Island Orchids. Pot. love passion "island romance" was $10 and NOID den. Nobile was $5.

Beautiful nobile - have you ever grown one before? I used to have several, but could never get them chilled enough to set the blooms.....

This is my first year growing them. I got a memory love fizz back in October I think and another from the same store and they are doing great. Getting nicely plump and tall. It gets really cold on the window sill come winter and fall so hopefully that does the trick. I don't know yet whether I can bloom them

My Easter plants consisted of 2 gardenias, 2 pom trees, strawberry plants and a second chocolate tree.

I bought the Nana variety as I need to grow indoors during the winter and I don't want to lug a huge pot in and out. The Nana grows quite happily as bonsai or just in a small pot. The fruit is smaller and has quite a bit less 'jewels' inside but it tastes the same. They are pretty little trees and make nice houseplants, blooming all year. They attract hummingbirds.
