Late to this thread but sorry all the same for your misfortunes. I can't imagine how you felt discovering the heat had failed, wouldn't blame you if some tears were shed. I hope the 16 that survived are ones you especially liked. I think we'll all be looking out for your wishlist of the plants you lost. It is so wonderfully encouraging and heartwarming to hear so much empathy and generosity of the members here. Sometimes the world IS a wonderful place. At least now too with spring here you don't have to worry too much about this happening again soon.
On another note, I am so so sorry about your dog. I know just how much that hurts. As a kid we lost several dogs that got out and never came back. However when one was lost - my dog & my brother's, they were brothers - the other, my dog, came home after a 1 - 1 1/2 weeks outside. He was in rough shape when he returned home on his own but he was home nonetheless. I hope this is the case for your little guy.
Have you reached out to any local doggie daycares and dog parks? Even try reaching out to groomers, kennels, and any and everyone who has anything to do with dogs.
Good luck to you on both fronts, and good for you for being resilient. My heart goes out to you.

Thank you so much, Lotis, for the sympathy. I hold out hope for sure. I don't know that I will put together a wish list as I feel wrong asking for certain plants from others. I am just willing to accept whatever extras others will share. On that note, I will inquire after one plant. Does anyone have a staghorn fern that you could part with a baby of? Mine was getting so nice but the cold took it.

Gotta say a big thank you to AnonYMouse. Just received some plants that were packaged better than I have EVER seen. I don't think they even knew they had been shipped. Thank you for helping restock my shelves.

No news on Bentley. Still missing. Really afraid that he is feeding baby eagles. I know the risks living here.
Only good news is that the weather is warming up and shipping season has arrived.

Ok, I just had to take a minute and let you all know how wonderful plant people are. Thanks to the fellow members of the forums that I belong to my shelves are over half full! I feel so blessed to know that you all took the time and effort to be generous to a stranger in need of a pick me up. I am smiling again and the greenhouse is no longer a sad place to go. Thank you all so very much! Love you all!!!

You know us plant people...we love to share.
And now the fun begins...learning about some of the new things you'll be growing.
